Home foreclosure activity hit an all-time high nationally in March, with Florida taking the No. 2 spot, according to Foreclosures.com.
Florida recorded 18, 946 foreclosures in March, a 33 percent increase from February.
California, the nation’s most populous state, led the country with 38, 318, a 59 percent increase from February.
For the first time in six months, Florida lost its standing as the state with the most pre-foreclosures, dropping slightly behind California.
Nearly 52, 000 Florida entered the first stage of the foreclosure process in March — about 8, 000 fewer than in California.
